Terms of Service

Effective Date: November 18, 2025
Last Updated: May 26, 2026

Welcome to prooflookup.com/ (“ProofLookup,” “the Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). ProofLookup provides public and private lookup tools for verification codes, certificates, proof records, product authenticity records, QR code verification pages, and related trust-checking services. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, organization, school, event, brand, manufacturer, seller, issuer, or other entity, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Nature of the Service

ProofLookup is a verification and lookup platform. It may display records, certificate details, product proof information, authenticity checks, QR code lookup pages, public status results, issuer details, timestamps, uploaded files, images, notes, and related metadata.

ProofLookup is not a government agency, licensing authority, school, regulator, laboratory, certification body, notary, court, payment processor, medical provider, or legal authority unless expressly stated in writing for a specific service.

A record appearing on ProofLookup means only that a record exists in the Service or has been submitted to the Service. It does not, by itself, guarantee that the underlying document, product, person, organization, credential, certificate, event, transaction, claim, or issuer is authentic, lawful, accurate, complete, current, safe, authorized, or suitable for any purpose.

3. Accounts and Administrative Access

Certain features may require an account or administrator access. You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.

You agree not to create accounts using false, stolen, disposable, misleading, or unauthorized information. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at any time if we believe the account violates these Terms, creates risk, is used for abuse, or exposes us, users, third parties, or the public to legal, safety, operational, reputational, or security harm.

4. User Records, Verification Data, and Uploaded Content

You are solely responsible for any certificates, proof records, product details, verification codes, QR codes, images, documents, files, names, descriptions, issuer information, public notes, private notes, custom fields, metadata, or other content you create, upload, import, publish, or display through the Service.

You represent and warrant that:
– you have the right and authority to create, upload, display, publish, verify, or distribute the record;
– the record is accurate, lawful, and not misleading;
– the record does not impersonate any person, business, school, government agency, regulator, laboratory, certifier, brand, or authority;
– the record does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contract, consumer protection, or other rights;
– the record does not create a false impression of certification, endorsement, approval, licensing, safety, origin, quality, inspection, compliance, or authenticity.

5. Prohibited Records and Prohibited Conduct

You must not use ProofLookup to create, host, verify, display, distribute, or promote any illegal, harmful, deceptive, unsafe, abusive, or unauthorized record or activity.

Prohibited uses include:
– fake certificates, fake IDs, fake licenses, fake diplomas, fake transcripts, fake permits, fake test results, fake inspection reports, fake medical records, fake legal documents, fake government documents, or forged credentials;
– impersonation of governments, schools, laboratories, certification bodies, employers, brands, payment providers, shipping companies, public agencies, or professional organizations;
– fraudulent product authenticity records, counterfeit goods verification, fake warranty records, or misleading proof of origin;
– phishing, malware, credential theft, spam, fraud, scams, account takeover, or deceptive redirects;
– records or links that threaten, endanger, or may materially harm public safety, emergency response, critical infrastructure, transportation, public health, or physical safety;
– hidden, cloaked, geo-restricted, rotating, or selectively visible links or evidence that prevent review of the true destination, record, or claim;
– harassment, doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, unlawful hate, threats, stalking, or targeted abuse;
– content involving child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of minors, grooming, trafficking, coercion, or sexualized content involving minors;
– illegal drugs, counterfeit medication, illegal weapons, explosives, forged documents, stolen goods, sanctions evasion, illegal gambling, money laundering, or other unlawful goods or services;
– attempts to bypass review, rate limits, security controls, account restrictions, enforcement, or abuse detection.

6. Public Safety and Hidden Verification Abuse

We prohibit any certificate, proof record, lookup result, QR code, destination link, uploaded file, or related activity that we believe may threaten public safety or conceal a public safety risk.

This includes hidden, cloaked, restricted-access, or region-blocked records or links that may prevent users, platforms, security systems, reviewers, or law enforcement from seeing the true content or purpose. If we cannot reasonably review a record, destination, QR code target, attachment, or redirect chain, we may disable it without notice.

We may immediately remove, disable, block, preserve, or report records or accounts that we suspect may involve violence, terrorism, bomb threats, shooting threats, swatting, false emergency reports, sabotage, critical infrastructure disruption, dangerous instructions, or other public safety risks.

7. Review, Moderation, and Enforcement

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, scan, review, classify, investigate, moderate, suspend, disable, delete, block, or report records, accounts, files, links, QR codes, lookup activity, traffic patterns, metadata, and related information.

We may take action without advance notice, including disabling or deleting a record, certificate, QR code, public lookup page, file, or account; blocking a domain, IP address, URL, user, account, email, country, region, ASN, keyword, or pattern; limiting lookup, upload, import, export, API, or account functionality; preserving logs, screenshots, files, records, and metadata; and reporting suspected abuse to relevant providers, regulators, law enforcement, or safety organizations.

8. Verification Results and Reliance

Verification results are provided for convenience only. Users should independently evaluate the issuer, record details, context, and destination before relying on any lookup result.

You should not rely on ProofLookup as the sole basis for legally, financially, medically, educationally, professionally, or safety-critical decisions. Where a record matters, contact the original issuer or responsible organization directly.

We do not guarantee that a valid-looking record is genuine, that an invalid result proves fraud, or that a record has not been altered outside the Service.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, design, branding, text, graphics, database structure, and features, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You retain ownership of records and content you submit, subject to these Terms. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, scan, analyze, modify for technical purposes, and otherwise use the content as necessary to operate the Service, provide verification pages, prevent abuse, enforce policies, comply with law, and protect users and the public.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. ProofLookup may collect and process account data, verification records, query logs, IP addresses, user agents, timestamps, referrers, approximate locations, uploaded files, abuse reports, security signals, and other information as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Service Availability and Data Loss

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, error-free lookup, perfect accuracy, or complete recovery of deleted or damaged data.

You are responsible for keeping independent backups of important certificate data, verification records, product data, issuer records, uploaded files, and exported reports.

We are not liable for loss of data, database corruption, import errors, export errors, plugin conflicts, hosting failures, downtime, migration failures, or third-party system failures.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, security, reliability, and availability.

We do not warrant that all fake, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive records will be detected or removed immediately.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, third-party claims, or costs of substitute services.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose or USD $100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ProofLookup, its owners, operators, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, fines, penalties, and fees arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your records, your verification data, your links, your uploaded files, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of third-party rights.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe continued access creates risk or violates these Terms.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, USA, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Nothing prevents us from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to stop abuse, fraud, security threats, intellectual property infringement, or public safety risks.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on the Service. Continued use after the revised Terms become effective means you accept them.
